How you move is so important.
Does your job feel like toil? Do you feel worn out after the day?
How many social or hobby activities have you missed out on due to pain? Would you like to show up more for your friends and family?
At Expand Your Ability, we use movement to deepen your awareness, because with awareness you can become wiser, make better choices and more capable.
Our habits help us walk, run, work, love, drive, do, everything. We can't live with out them. So let's keep the helpful habits.
What about the unhelpful habits? The ones that limit what we really want to do. You know, the ones that cause restricted movement and discomfort. The ones we can't turn off.

Look. I get it. It sounds strange.
But it works.
We're often split between doing what we want and working against ourselves.
The key is to get the whole self working together.
In concert. In harmony.
What if you could bring all of you to your life? More integrated power of your pelvis? Increased flexibility of your ribs and spine? Greater precision of your hand-eye coordination.
Anyone of any age and physical condition can do these classes! All students are invited to attend to their comfort and find what's possible for them in the moment.
This means beginners work right alongside more experienced students.
The aim of these classes is not to twist the body into bizarre pretzel shapes or to work your muscles to failure, but to open the mind to new possibilities. Doing so returns vitality to one's movements and life.
Try easy. Effort actually gets in the way of learning.
Trust in the process. The lessons challenge our common conceptions of working hard to get outcomes.
Willingness is key. 99% of the work is simply showing up to class.
Go slow enough that you can sense if your breath flows or stops. The breath is your ally to finding quality movement.
Communicate with your teacher! We are here to answer any questions and give you feedback at any time.
You are not required to be flexible at all! You'll find that your flexibility improves through the lessons no matter where you start.
This is a non-judgmental space. All are encouraged to move within their range of comfort.
